The Boston Globe published an editorial recommending a NO vote on Question 2 on November 6^th. Their editorial points out that a vote for physician-assisted suicide, “…would not serve the larger interests of the state. Rather than bring Massachusetts close to an agreed-upon set of procedures for approaching the end of life, it would be a flashpoint and distraction – the maximum amount of moral conflict for a very modest gain.”

Dionne, a native of Fall River, Washington Post opinion writer and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, published an opinion article entitled, Liberals Should Be Wary of Assisted Suicide. In his article, Mr. Dionne addresses his major concerns with physician-assisted suicide and how liberals and conservatives need to come together as a whole to tackle how we provide better end of life care.

The Springfield Republican published an editorial endorsing a NO vote on Question 2 on November 6^th. Their editorial points to the flaws that have been raised by medical experts, such as the Massachusetts Medical Society. The Springfield Republican recommends, “Voting ‘NO’ on Question 2, physician-assisted suicide.”

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, Department Head of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania and older brother of Rahm Emanuel, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times about the myths surrounding physician-assisted suicide. Dr. Emanuel is a bioethicist and progressive, who has written extensively on health care policy.
